News & Updates
As part of Anthem's dental plan changes for 2015, they are making adjustments to their pediatric dental Essential Health Benefits (EHB) plans. Beginning January 1, 2015, all of Anthem's health care plans (on and off the exchange) will include pediatric dental EHBs.
As a result, small group members and individuals who were auto-enrolled in a pediatric dental EHB plan in 2014 will be transitioned to have this EHB coverage as part of their health care plan. These transitions will occur at the time of your client’s renewal. For individual members, transitions will occur on January 1, 2015.
Individual members will still have the opportunity to purchase our stand-alone dental pediatric plan (Anthem Children's Dental PPO), if they are enrolled in a health care plan that does not have pediatric dental coverage already included (example, a grandfathered plan).
Anthem will continue to offer separate dental family plans that allow coverage for adults age 19 and older and children age 18 and younger. Available plans include:
The adult-only dental plans available in 2014 (Anthem Adult and Anthem Adult Enhanced) will no longer be available for individual members.

For example, stand-alone dental may pay for care right away, but with a limit. While their health care plan may start with a deductible, it has no limit after it starts paying for care.
