1-50: Delinquent Notices Sent to Employers in Error
SHARE |
Jan 29, 2015
As part of the Q4 premium rate adjustment notices that were sent earlier this month to October-December 2014 renewing small group members, some of Anthem's groups may have received delinquent policy notices in error. As a reminder, in working with regulators, the California Department of Insurance (CDI) and the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC), Anthem announced the following:
-
The average premium rate increase for grandmothered small group plan(s) offered by Anthem (CDI regulated) is being reduced from 9.8% to 7.8%.
-
The average premium rate increase for grandmothered small group plan(s) offered by Anthem (DMHC regulated) is being reduced from 15.2% to 12.9%.
Due to these adjustments, the process of canceling incorrect bills and reissuing correct rate notices inadvertently triggered delinquent notices to be sent to some groups in error. This issue has since been resolved and these groups have not been canceled due to this oversight.
