10-50: Anthem Disability Coverage Starting June 2016

​For the first time, Anthem is making Short-Term and Long-Term Disability coverage available to California employers with 10-50 employees. Anthem already offers these products to larger groups, but starting June 1, 2016, a Small Group employer can add these valuable coverages to their benefit packages.

Why is Disability coverage important?
Disability insurance is something many people think they'll never need. But, over one in four of today's 20-year-olds will become disabled before they retire.1 In 2014, only 39% of U.S. employees had Short-Term Disability coverage, and only 33% had Long-Term Disability coverage.2 Employees who have Anthem’s group Short-Term Disability and health care coverage can get extra help managing certain chronic conditions that cause a disability.

By adding Disability coverage, Anthem offers Small Group employers a total benefits package.
