2-50: Life Rates Reduced and Portfolio Changes Effective March 1, 2012
Jan 18, 2012
Anthem is pleased to announce that, as a follow up to last year's rate reduction for groups of 20-50 employees, they are reducing their life insurance rates for new life insurance groups of 11-19 employees effective March 1, 2012.
In addition, Anthem will be updating their life portfolio to include face amounts of $25,000 and greater to better align with their packaging strategy. Now, their minimum life benefit will match the amount of life insurance groups need to qualify for 1% off their health premiums and/or 6% off their life and dental premiums (if they purchase a qualifying dental plan with their life plan).
For new business, Anthem will accept $15,000 face amounts through March 1, 2012 effective dates. In-force life insurance groups who currently have $15,000 can keep their policy as is, if they wish. Anthem will not force migrate them to a higher amount.
Effective March 1, 2012
- New business Life rates reduced for groups with 11-19 EE's
- $15,000 face amount will no longer be available to new groups
- Minimum face amount will be $25,000
- Groups with $15,000 face amounts will not be force migrated to a higher amount
