2010 Federally Mandated Gap Notices

Every year, Anthem Blue Cross is required to send specific information to members about their rights, their benefits and more. To be responsible, they've combined several of these required annual notices into a single communication that will be distributed by the end of 2010. 

Notices covered in this communication include:

The notices were sent either by the U.S. postal service or by e-mail to subscribers who have given their consent. E-mails were deployed December 22, 2010, and the U.S. postal mailing will drop on December 31, 2010.

ASO group subscribers will receive a Women's Health Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA) postcard. ASO groups are responsible for communicating the Notice of Privacy Practice (NOPP, which includes HIPAA and GLBA) to their employees.

Fully insured group subscribers will receive a combined WHCRA and NOPP trifold communication.

E-mails are also being sent to both ASO and fully insured subscribers who have granted Anthem permission to communicate mandated information to them electronically.
