Large Group clients can now make payments by phone
Anthem Blue Cross has added a new feature to increase the convenience of doing business with them. Their clients can now make a premium payment over the phone.
This feature may be most helpful to those clients who may be experiencing difficulty in making their payments on time and may be at risk for cancellation of coverage. Paying by phone gives clients the chance for Anthem to stop the cancellation process and assist the group in avoiding any reinstatement fees.
Here are the types of transactions clients can make by phone:
- New business
- One-time payment
- Future payments
- Installment agreements (these are limited and subject to pre-approval)
- Multiple bill entities
- CalCOBRA member payments
How to get started
If your client wants to pay by phone, they'll need to contact their Anthem Enrollment and Billing Specialist to get an authorization form (required by Federal Law), complete it and place it on file with Anthem. Once the authorization form is on file, it remains valid providing the clients ABA (American Bankers Association) and Routing numbers do not change. A $10 service fee will apply for each transaction.
Note: If the client's American Bankers Association (ABA) or routing numbers ever change, Anthem will need a new authorization form completed.
Pay by phone: easy - quick - convenient!
