News & Updates
Employers considering Freedom of Choice (FOC) can take advantage of Aetna's incentive pricing available this year in target markets*. FOC can help save dental benefits dollars while offering the best of both worlds … access to Aetna’s affordable and expansive Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO®)1 and traditional Preferred Provider Organization (PPO).2
Fully-insured, new employers in the Key and National Account segments in specific markets may be eligible to receive a 2% discount when they offer FOC and agree to participate in Aetna's communications campaign that, among other things, educates employees on the ability to switch between DMO and PPO dental plans & save on out-of-pocket expenses.

1 State laws vary with regard to out-of-network benefits. Some states allow you to obtain limited benefits when you go out of network for covered services. Check your plan documents for details. In California, for some services, your dentist may refer you to out-of-network care. In Illinois, DMO plans provide limited out-of-network benefits. However, to receive maximum benefits, members must select and have care coordinated by a participating primary care dentist. In Illinois, the DMO plan is not an HMO.
2 In Texas, the Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan is known as the Participating Dental Network (PDN).
