ACA News: IRS Requires Reporting of Employer Identification Numbers

Dec 18, 2015

To make sure your clients’ and their employees’ tax information is processed accurately and in a timely manner, your clients’ Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) must be recorded on the annual 1095-B form. Through an internal audit, Anthem has learned that they do not have Employer Identification Numbers for a subset of their groups.

How you can help
Soon Anthem will reach out to their brokers with clients for whom they don’t have EINs. If you get this communication in your inbox, it will include a list of your impacted clients. Anthem will need your help getting the EINs for the clients on that list. It will help us make sure the 1095-B tax forms are processed in a timely and accurate manner.

They will ask that you take a few moments to provide the actual EINs for your list of clients and return the information to our shared mailbox.
