HHS to Take Over 10+ Percent Rate Reviews in Seven States
Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced that seven states lack proper resources or authority in both the individual and small-group markets to conduct required rate reviews over a certain threshold, which means HHS will take over the reviews. Federal regulators will review the small-group market rates in another three states.
Connecticut Governor Vetoes Rate Bill, New California Rules for Rental Networks
State actions that made news last week include Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy's veto of a rate review bill, California's new rules for sale or lease of provider networks and Minnesota's continuing budget mess.
