Final Rule on Medical Loss Ratio Released
Health and Human Services (HHS) has released MLR rules, under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), that require health plans to meet minimum medical spending requirements. The release clarifies a number of implementation issues.
Other highlights include:
New York governor ponders whether to sign a bill that would prohibit health plans from requiring the use of mail-order pharmacies.
Oklahoma considers a rule that would allow insurers to stop offering individual coverage to children to age 1.
California considers an increase in the sales tax and a tax on earnings over $250,000.
