Health Care Experts Recommend Team Approach to Medicare

Private sector experts – including Aetna Chief Medical Officer Lonny Reisman – who testified before the Senate Finance Committee last week recommended using a team-based approach with incentives for positive outcomes to reform Medicare.

Other highlights include:

  • Administrators for California’s CalPERS plans have approved a rate of 9.6 percent for next year.
  • Three federal employee health plans will not be considered for Connecticut’s essential health benefits benchmark plan because they don’t cover certain state-mandated benefits.
  • Nevada officials are recommending that a state exchange keep individual and small group markets separate and not require standardization of plan designs.
