New poll shows Americans view private coverage positively
A new Kaiser Family Foundation poll shows that almost 90 percent of adults with private health insurance have had a positive experience. In contrast, public opinion on the health reform law continues to be split with 44 percent of Americans having an unfavorable opinion of the law.
Congress considers authorizing cross-state sales, antitrust legislation
With an eye toward the election of 2012, Congress has been busy -- the Senate recently rejected the House Republican budget resolution while a House subcommittee held a hearing last week on cross-state selling of health insurance. Congress also is looking at two newly introduced antitrust bills with significant health care implications.
States move forward on health insurance exchanges
A number of states are moving forward with legislation to create health insurance exchanges under the ACA, while Georgia and Maine wrestled with most-favored nation insurance bills.
