The mandatory pharmacy home delivery (mail delivery) program traditionally known as Refill by Mail has a new name: Home Delivery Complete.
This choice of name follows similar conventions with Anthem's additional home delivery program – Home Delivery Choice – which lets members choose whether they want to continue using their retail pharmacy or home delivery to fill prescriptions for their maintenance drugs – drugs taken for chronic conditions. Also, the name change (for Anthem's non-ACA business) aligns with the existing name used for their mandatory home delivery program in their health insurance exchange business – also known as Home Delivery Complete.
When does this name change take effect?
The name change is now in place and should be used immediately. Anthem has updated their marketing materials accordingly.
Only the name has changed
This program still operates as it always has. New or renewing members who have Home Delivery Complete included in their prescription coverage will be able to get up to two (or three, depending on benefit) refills of their prescription at their retail pharmacy. After that, they must switch to using home delivery to continue getting coverage.
