California Language Requirements

California law places a requirement on Health plans, Dental plans (if they provide Essential Health Benefits) and insurers to translate certain plan documents into any language in which the plan/insurer or its authorized agents advertises that is not already one of the plan/insurer’s established threshold languages under SB 853.

As such, no agent is authorized to market or advertise in any language other than the following when soliciting on behalf of Anthem Blue Cross and Anthem Blue Cross Life and Health Insurance Company: 

In Section 2.1 of the Anthem Blue Cross Agent Agreement, all contracted agents are required to comply with this directive. This directive shall be enforced as if it were a part of the Agent Agreement.
