DeCare acquisition delivers new dental tools and services to your clients
Anthem Blue Cross is excited to announce that they have completed the acquisition of DeCare Dental - one of the largest dental insurers and administrators in the country. Rest assured that while this acquisition will ultimately deliver enhanced dental capabilities, nothing changes for you or your existing dental clients today.
This acquisition strengthens Anthem's position as one of the largest dental insurers and administrators in the country, managing dental benefits for more than eight million Americans. How will your clients benefit?
- Anthem will immediately begin sharing expertise and best practices, particularly around information technology and service excellence. DeCare brings a 40-year track record managing dental benefits. In 2008, they had an average claim turnaround of 2.06 days, claim payment accuracy of 99.83 percent, average phone response time of 16 seconds, and first-call resolution of 97.37 percent.
- DeCare brings a wealth of proprietary data and analytics on 80 percent of the nation's dental providers. That information helps Anthem identify dentists that provide patient-centric and cost-effective care. To help contain premiums and claim costs, they can recruit more effectively and fine-tune their networks based on these dentists. Think of it as network optimization. And the more optimized Anthem's networks are, the more affordable dental claims and premiums may be.
