Delta Dental launches new SmileWaySM Wellness Program to raise oral health awareness, promote wellness
San Francisco (June 2, 2011) -- A group of Delta Dental companies today launched its SmileWaySM Wellness Program, beginning with a campaign to raise oral health awareness and promote wellness.
The program, created by Delta Dental companies in California, New York, Florida and 11 other states, aims to help people improve and manage their oral health through a three-pronged approached called the SmileWay Challenge. Participants are asked to complete online quizzes to self-assess their risk for dental disease, educate themselves on various aspects of dental health and “get connected” to Delta Dental through social media channels and Dental Wire, Delta Dental’s enrollee newsletter.
To kick off the new program, Delta Dental is reminding enrollees this month about the importance of oral health and disease prevention and is encouraging them to participate in the SmileWay Challenge. The first step: online risk self-assessment quizzes, which are found at mysmileway.com.
“Based on their answers to the quizzes, participants can sign up to receive customized tips by email each month on how to improve their oral health and guard against disease,” said Belinda Martinez, Delta Dental’s senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. “From these tips, they need look no further than our website for educational information and videos, and they can view these resources and manage their program participation at their own pace.”
