It's no secret that employers can benefit from a smart, well-designed vision benefit program. In fact, studies have shown employers gain as much as $7 for every $1 spent on vision coverage.*
But that's not all - employees can benefit too. That's because Anthem Blue Cross has designed a vision plan with convenience in mind. In fact, Blue View Vision offers the convenience of:
- Network choice. Anthem offers a broad, convenient, national network of more than 44,000 providers and provider locations, including many independent optometrists and ophthalmologists, as well as national retail locations such as: LensCrafters®, Target® Optical, Sears Optical, JC Penney Optical and Pearle Vision®. These retail locations offer convenient evening and weekend hours. Although they only comprise of 6% of Anthem's network, they deliver 30% of Anthem's claims. Plus, 25% of eyewear is purchased on the weekends.
- Extended customer service hours. Anthem's customer service hours are among the industry's longest. Anthem is here to help Monday through Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. PDT and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. PDT. Working late means they're here when their members need them, which is important since so many people buy glasses and contacts on the evenings and weekends.
- Online resources. From Anthem's online Provider Finder to their Eye Health Resource Center, access to important vision care information is right at their fingertips.
- Retail allowances. The Blue View Vision retail frame allowance allows members to choose from one of the widest varieties of eyeglass frames. And if they want a frame that costs more than the covered allowance - no problem! They'll save 20% off the balance.
And that's not all. Most members who have both health and vision coverage with Anthem will have one ID card to access both their health and vision benefits.
