Network: Stanford & Lucile Salter Packard (HMO Products)

Sep 05, 2012

HMO members can still visit Stanford Medical Center and Lucille Salter Packard Children's Hospital

Last week, Aetna told us about the network negotiations with Stanford Medical Center and Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital.

While Aetna still tries to negotiate an agreement between all parties for all products, they are reviewing their HMO member transition plan with the Department of Managed Health Care (“DMHC’’) before sending member letters and treating the hospitals and physicians as non-participating for HMO members.

Therefore, until further notice, Aetna will treat Stanford Medical Center, Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital and the affiliated physicians as in-network for member benefits for members enrolled in HMO products only.

Help with transition of care

Members enrolled in a Traditional (non-HMO) plan may be eligible for transition of care if they are in an active course of treatment for a transitional period of time at the preferred plan benefit level. For more information, members should contact customer service at the number listed on their identification card.
