Network: UnitedHealthcare in Negotiations with Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital

UHC wants to inform you that UnitedHealthcare of California and UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company (collectively, "UnitedHealthcare") are in negotiations with Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital to renew its hospital contracts, which expire on October 31, 2015.

While UHC has not yet reached an agreement, their goal is to preserve their members' access to care at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital while paying the hospital rates that are similar to what other area hospitals charge for the same services.

Member Notification
If UHC is unable to reach agreement with Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital to renew their contracts, effective November 1, 2015, the hospital will no longer be considered in-network providers for their members. Per regulatory and contractual obligations, UHC will notify and advise affected members (those who have received services at or from these Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital facilities in the last 12 months) in advance of the pending expiration dates as follows:

Negotiations Continue
UHC is continuing in their discussions with Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. They appreciate how disruptive it can be when there is a chance a hospital may stop participating in their network, and that is why their team has been working hard with Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital officials to reach a resolution.
