Small Group Q4 2016 Update from Joe Greenberg

As 2016 winds down, workloads and market activity are peaking as we continue to pursue success. This December is projected to be the largest sales month for Anthem Small Group in the past five years. We are also experiencing record retention levels. I believe that this is a reflection of our improved competitive position, stable pricing strategy, strong product portfolio, flexible underwriting guidelines, best in class technology (e.g., real time system updates and same day case install), excellent talent and top-notch distribution partners. Overall 2016 has been a tremendous success for Anthem Small Group as evidenced by our business results and positive market feedback. 

As we look forward to 2017, Anthem Small Group is projected to continue our positive trend and grow our market share. Many of our market leading programs, technologies, and services will be continued and expanded. One example is our new case implementation process. Our Anthem Case Implementation Team is personally calling group administrators for our newly written groups to welcome them to Anthem, explain our mobile application, and provide them a personal contact moving forward. Other examples you will experience include a much improved renewal package, a completely enhanced mobile application for all of our members with many features including ID Cards, benefits, provider finder, cost compare, etc. and an enhanced communication strategy to help you understand the dynamic political landscape (e.g., the election and the potential impacts to our business), legislative changes and industry news. As part of this communication work, please expect timely and relevant updates, and continue to visit our ​Anthem Educational Blog.

Our technology, processes, pricing, network and product offerings will continue to be enhanced moving forward as we execute on our strategic imperatives and deliver on market needs.
