UHC BriovaRx® Specialty Pharmacy Transition Update

As you know, UHC has started to move members taking specialty medications from OptumRx to BriovaRx®. The schedule for future waves is now finalized as shown below.

What does this mean for your clients’ employees?
OptumRx will call members to introduce them to BriovaRx and walk them through the process. They will also receive a letter explaining the change. All of their specialty prescriptions will be automatically transferred to the new specialty pharmacy. When they receive their next refill with BriovaRx, their shipment will include a welcome kit, an introduction letter to BriovaRx and new condition-specific educational materials.
Here is a summary of the changes they may experience:
- New branding – BriovaRx will appear on their materials, medication packaging, website, and calls will be answered as BriovaRx.
- New refill process – There is a new online form specifically for specialty medications.
- New refill phone number – Members will have a new toll-free number but the experience with customer care will be the same.
- Faster shipping: The goal of BriovaRx is to offer shipping flexibility so some members may get their medication even faster.
- New services - Innovative member tools for a more tailored care experience (these are available for select classes)
- BriovaLive™ - video consultation with a pharmacist to ‘unbox’ their first fill
- BriovaCommunity™ – website customized specifically to each member with custom content tailored to their therapy
- Briova Bundle – free supplies specific to the condition
All other experiences and services remain the same: member cost share, pharmacist availability, clinical management programs, refills and deliveries, free supplies, credit card on file, and claims history.
