Update from Scott Shaffer: 24-Month Renewal Option Recalled
Oct 23, 2013
While we’re focused on finding new ways to better serve your clients and help grow your business, we want to be sure you have timely and relevant information.
You may recall that we recently announced our 24-month renewal option, called Sure Thing Option 24, for small employers that had qualifying plans.
Although a 24 month renewal term had already received California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) approval, the department asked for additional modifications to the program. After further discussions, Health Net was informed we could no longer offer the Sure Thing Option 24 for December 1, 2013, renewals.
We will be sending letters on October 25, 2013, to the employers that were offered the 24-month renewal. A copy of this letter is enclosed for your reference.
Please note: This does not impact our 12-month early renewal program. Small Business Groups may still elect to early renew effective December 1, 2013, to lock in pre-ACA plans and networks until December 1, 2014.
We understand the frustration a situation like this can cause, and we sincerely regret any confusion either you or your clients have experienced.
Please contact your Health Net sales team or account manager with any questions or concerns. Be assured, we will continue to work in the best interests of you and your clients.
