Lakeside System, which serves Anthem Blue Cross members in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, is experiencing financial difficulties and is at risk of filing bankruptcy. The DMHC has issued an order to ALL health plans to freeze any new enrollment to this group to contain the situation. Although their financial challenges are significant, Anthem is actively working with the group, the DMHC, and a potential new buyer to avoid bankruptcy and any associated member disruption.
