We are pleased to announce that Anthem Blue Cross has extended their RAF Program through April 2009 effective dates. The program now includes groups down to 10 enrolling employees!

Through April 2009 Effective Dates
Guarantees for groups of 10-14 and 15-50 with no health questions or carrier renewal required!

  • Groups with 10-14 enrolling employees receive a maximum .95 RAF
  • Groups with 15-50 enrolling employees receive a maximum .90 RAF

And remember:

  • There are no health questions required
  • The lowest RAF available is .90 and the RAF is guaranteed for the initial 12 months from the Medical coverage effective date
  • This offer does not apply to association groups
  • Clients can save when bundling Life, Dental and Workers' Compensation

Anthem Blue Cross has extended their Bonus Program for each new member enrolling in a Solution PPO plan. How much can you earn? When you enroll new members in a Solution PPO plan with September 1, 2008 through January 15, 2009 effective dates you can earn:

  • $35 per Solution member (for first 1-24 members enrolled)
  • $50 per Solution member (after 25 Solution members have been enrolled)

  • Based on small group production in 2009, trip will occur in 2010
  • Agents earn a point for each new small group medical member they sell - 1 point per small group member
  • The points can add up, when you add specialty business – ½ point per member per specialty line and ¼ point for workers’ compensation
  • To get agents off to a great start, Anthem Blue Cross will double points for January effective dates for:
    • Come Back to Blue qualified AB1672 medical groups
    • New Dental sales
  • Top 50 point winners and 5 wildcards - for each 50 points get entered into random drawing for 5 wildcard winners

#1: 12-month rule waiver
Bring back groups that lapsed between October 1, 2007 and October 1, 2008. When they re-apply for medical coverage from Anthem Blue Cross or Anthem Blue Cross Life and Health Insurance Company for September 1, 2008 through April 15, 2009 effective dates, Anthem Blue Cross will waive the 12-month waiting rule and guarantee issue those groups that would otherwise qualify under AB1672.1

This offer is only available for qualifying AB1672 groups that cancelled their Anthem Blue Cross medical coverage between October 1, 2007 and October 1, 2008 and had RAF's of 1.05 or better.

Please note:

  • Health questions may be required for groups requesting a lower RAF.
  • Lowest RAF available is .90 and the RAF is guaranteed for the initial 12 months from the Medical coverage effective date.
  • Bundling savings with Life, Dental and Workers' Compensation coverage still applies.
  • Groups that have been denied reinstatement are ineligible.
  • Come Back to Anthem Blue groups are not eligible for the Guaranteed RAF program, but are eligible for the lower RAF deal.

#2: Lower RAFs
For a limited time only, Anthem Blue Cross is offering a NEW RAF reduction program when eligible groups re-apply for medical coverage under Come Back to Anthem Blue. No health questions required!

  • Groups of 2-4 medically enrolled subscribers receive a 1.00 RAF.
  • Groups of 5-9 medically enrolled subscribers receive a .95 RAF or a 5% reduction, whichever is lower.
  • Groups of 10-50 medically enrolled subscribers receive a .90 RAF.

1Anthem Blue Cross will review on a non-Guarantee Issue (AB1672) basis for groups that don't meet these requirements.

New: Come Back to Blue Bonus Program
When brokers are able to return groups to Anthem Blue Cross via the Come Back to Blue Program they will receive:

  • Cash bonus based on group size:
    • 5-9 = $350 per group
    • 10-50 = $750 per group
  • Double points toward producer trip for sales in January 2009.

  • Bonus program is based on snapshot of renewing membership as of December 15, 2008 for anniversary renewals from January 1, 2009 through April 30, 2009.
  • Bonus based upon the percent of membership remaining two months after each renewing month, bonus will be as follows:
