Aetna ACA Underwriting Updates Effective November 1, 2026

Aetna is updating their ACA underwriting guidelines for new business effective dates of November 1, 2026 and beyond.

• A Quarterly Wage & Tax Statement (QWTS) will be required for all ACA groups
• Updated CA ACA submission deadlines:
  • 1st of the month effective dates must be submitted by the 25th of the month prior to the effective date
  • 15th of the month effective dates must be submitted by the 10th of the month prior to the effective date
  • Incomplete and/or late submissions will be moved to the next available effective date
• New business groups may offer a maximum of four (4) plans (this change does not apply to renewal groups)
