Aetna sold it's U.S. Group Life and Disability Insurance business to The Harford on November 1, 2017. Aetna sent a plan sponsor letter that was released on the close of sale.
Effective April 1, 2018, Aetna Small Group will no longer sell life products to new business.
- Aetna life products have been removed from bpQuote
- Employee and Employer applications will be updated in 2019. If a new sales is received with a life election, underwriting will reach out to notify it is unavailable
Existing Aetna Small Group life policies won't see any changes to their rates, billing, or benefits. Future changes will be communicated by The Hartford.
