Anthem, Inc. has announced that IngenioRx, its new pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), will enter the market ahead of schedule. IngenioRx was conceived with the mission to restore trust and confidence in pharmacy care by focusing on total health, demystifying the way pharmacy works, and delivering a seamless experience across the continuum of care. Anthem is excited to bring this new pharmacy solution to their clients and their members -- now even sooner.
What's next?
Ensuring a seamless transition for your clients is Anthem's top priority. For the past 15 months, Anthem has had dedicated teams planning the transition and conducting robust testing to ensure that every aspect of their operations is ready to serve their clients and their members. Anthem has made excellent progress against their transition goals and are confident in their ability to launch earlier than originally anticipated.
For your clients who have Anthem pharmacy benefits, Anthem will begin transitioning customers, and their members, in Q2. Anthem will continue to transition customers, and their members, in waves, with the majority backloaded into the latter part of 2019 and January 1, 2020. Approximately 60 - 90 days before your clients transition to IngenioRx, Anthem will contact them to more formally explain the transition plan and to introduce them to the new capabilities that IngenioRx will offer. Shortly after that, Anthem will begin contacting their members to introduce them to IngenioRx and provide any assistance they might need regarding their current home delivery and specialty pharmacy prescriptions. For now, however, nothing changes for your clients or their employees.
Anthem is incredibly excited about the new capabilities that IngenioRx will be bringing to the market and the value they plan to unlock for their clients and members.
