Anthem Blue Cross is committed to transforming health care with trusted and caring solutions. They have been working hard to manage their medical costs, which helps to keep their plans more affordable for their mutual clients. Due to some better than expected claims results, along with cost-saving measures that have been implemented, their Medical Loss Ratio dropped below 80 percent over the 2015-2017 period.
What does this mean? It means that clients who were enrolled in the 2017 calendar year are getting some money back. The annualized rebates will average approximately $142 per member and the rebates are expected to be paid by September 8th to the employers. Employee letters are required to be mailed and will be sent by September 18th.
Anthem is committed to providing access to high-quality health care providers and services while working to drive down cost in the health care system. In addition, they are striving to improve their customer's experiences and efficiently managing their costs is part of that experience. They are excited about being able to offer competitive rates with top notch customer service, and a little money back for clients is always a good thing.
The rebate checks are distributed directly to the employer and should be sent by September 8th (employee letters should be sent by September 18th). The employer has the option to distribute to the employees or apply towards future premiums. Cal Cobra members will receive a check directly from Anthem.
