Anthem Group Life Clients will get New Contracts

Anthem recently received approval of a new California group life contract. Anthem is excited to share the new contract that includes several enhancements including:

• Enhanced continuity of coverage upon change of insurance carriers
• Life Waiver of Premium with a two-year Own Occupation followed by Any Occupation provision
• Additional Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit of three-quarters of the Principal Sum for the loss of either one arm or one leg

New and renewing life groups will get Anthem’s updated policy and certificate starting January 1, 2020. Existing life groups will get the new contract at their renewal. The contract will arrive separately from their renewal packets with a letter that explains the changes. 

The new California contract includes basic life, basic AD&D, optional life, optional AD&D, supplemental life, supplemental AD&D, voluntary life and voluntary AD&D.

These changes don’t impact rates. Current groups won’t need to sign or return anything. They simply continue their premium payments.
