Anthem & Heal: On-Demand Doctor House Calls
HEAL: On-demand doctor house calls in select California counties
Anthem now provides on-demand doctor house calls as a covered benefit for California members in
Small Group full-network PPO plans (as of January 1, 2017) and in all Select PPO plans (as of April 15,
2017). HEAL is available in select counties: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and the San
Francisco Bay Area.
Members can make an appointment with a licensed doctor to come to their home or office in two
hours or on their schedule. Hours of availability are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week,
including holidays.
Standard reimbursement rates for doctors in the plan apply. The member is responsible for all out-of-pocket
copay or coinsurance amounts, as usual. The member pays $99 out-of-pocket per visit, if the
plan deductible still needs to be met. If the deductible has been met, the member simply pays the
usual copay amount.
To book a visit, members can go online to heal.com. They can download an app from the App Store
or Google Play, Or they can call 1-844.644.4325 (HEAL) to request an appointment.
