Anthem Launching Dedicated HMO Member Service Unit in February

Anthem is adopting a new strategic member service model for commercial business designed to better meet the needs of health maintenance organization (HMO) members.

 

Anthem is creating a dedicated member service unit for most organizations based in California who offer an Anthem HMO plan. The new unit will provide an enhanced experience for HMO members.

 

Their dedicated and highly-trained HMO plan experts will:

  • Help members navigate benefits and networks
  • Work to address key pain point areas for HMO members
  • Resolve member issues quickly and accurately
  • Be available 5 a.m. through 8 p.m. weekdays

 

Large Groups will move to the new unit on renewal beginning February 1, 2021. Anthem will issue new ID cards with the new toll-free number to HMO members as each group renews. Small Groups and Individual members will transition to the new dedicated unit and toll-free number in early 2022.

 

Vivity will be part of the new HMO service unit. Associates currently supporting Vivity will continue to do so. Vivity members will keep their current toll-free number.
