Anthem & Meritage Medical Network Update

The CaliforniaCare HMO Agreement between Anthem Blue Cross and Meritage Medical Network will terminate effective December 31, 2023. As a result, beginning December 31, 2023, Meritage Medical Network will no longer be part of the Anthem Blue Cross commercial HMO Network. Meritage Medical Network is located in Marin County.

Letters were mailed to subscribers around November 1st informing them that they will be transferred to alternate participating medical groups. Additionally, letters were mailed to related LG and SG clients and brokers.

This network change impacts roughly 2752 members across Small and Large Group. About 1881 member can keep their same PCP, but with a different medical group. There will be 871 members who will be auto assigned to a new PCP. These members will be able to choose their own providers if needed and can do so by calling Anthem's member services number listed on the back of their Id cards.
