Anthem Offering Special Open Enrollment Due to Bronze Plan Changes

3/12/20 Update: The DMHC is no longer requiring Anthem to make changes to their Bronze PPO plans for groups with new and renewal dates between 1/1/20 and 4/30/20. However, they are still making changes to some of their Bronze plans effective 5/1/20. Read our news post for more information.

Previous communication - as mentioned above, there is no more Special Open Enrollment as changes only affect new or renewing groups with 5/1/20 effective dates and beyond.

The DMHC recently required Anthem to make some changes to some of their Bronze PPO plans. Due to these changes, Anthem is offering a Special Open Enrollment period for the January – April 15th new and renewing groups who are impacted by the benefit changes on the 2020 Bronze plans. Please keep the following in mind:

• This Special Open Enrollment period applies only to impacted January – April 15th new and renewing groups that have enrollment in the 2020 Bronze plans.
• The time frame for submitting the OE changes will be March 1st – May 31st for a May 1st effective date.
• When making the plan change, the new rate will include any birthday changes.
• Please send the OE changes directly to Anthem's Enrollment & Billing area and mark the correspondence as "Bronze Special Open Enrollment." These changes cannot be made through EmployerAccess.

This Special Open Enrollment does not apply to Specialty products.
