Anthem announced rate and plan updates for January 1, 2024 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

Rates

Medical Quarterly Rate Change Average:

• PPO: 2.0%
• HMO: 0.8%

Medical Average Annual / Renewal Rate Change Average:

• PPO: 8.4%
• HMO: 9.2%

Anthem's Dental & Vision plans will have no rate action for new business.

Selling Highlights

• DE9C not required with 3 or more subscribers enrolling. A prior carrier bill is required if DE9C is not provided (excludes virgin groups).
• Relaxed participation:
  • 25% participation for groups with 5 or more enrolled subscribers.
  • 65% participation for groups with 4 or fewer enrolled subscribers.
• Valid waivers include individual coverage, Medicare, Medi-Cal, military service, or covered as a dependent on an employer-sponsored group plan.

Additional Network Flexibility

For Q1, Anthem Small Group will be allowing additional network flexibility. Employers can select one of the following pairings:

• Both PPO networks alongside any 2 HMO networks (including Vivity)
• Both PPO networks alongside Select HMO, Priority Select HMO, and Vivity HMO (excludes CaliforniaCare HMO)

• 10/24/23: January renewals posted on Producer Toolbox
• 10/30/23: January renewals mailed to Employers
• 11/03/23: January renewals available on EmployerAccess
