Anthem announced rate and plan updates for October 1, 2023 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

 

Rates

Medical Quarterly Rate Change Average:

  • PPO: 2.5%
  • HMO: 3.0%

 

Medical Average Annual / Renewal Rate Change Average:

  • PPO: 7.8%
  • HMO: 8.7%

 

2023 Selling Highlights

  • DE-9C not required with 3 or more subscribers enrolling when providing a prior carrier bill (excludes virgin group, Anthem reserves the right to request more information)
  • 25% participation for groups of 5 or more subscribers enrolling (65% participation for 4 or fewer enrolling)
  • Individual coverage both on and off the exchange are valid waivers
  • 24-hour turnaround for new business submissions

 

Additional Network Flexibility

Employers can select one of the following pairings:

  • Both PPO networks alongside any two HMO networks (including Vivity)
  • Both PPO networks alongside the Select HMO, Priority Select HMO, and Vivity HMO networks (excluding CaliforniaCare HMO)*

 

*Network selection subject to provider availability.

 

Q4 Renewal Release Dates

October

  • 7/14/23 - October renewals will be posted to Producer Toolbox
  • 7/20/23 - October renewals will be mailed to groups
  • 7/28/23 - October renewals will be posted to EmployerAccess

 

November

  • 8/17/23 - November renewals will be posted to Producer Toolbox
  • 8/23/23 - November renewals will be mailed to groups
  • 8/31/23 - November renewals will be posted to EmployerAccess

 

December

  • 9/15/23 - December renewals will be posted to Producer Toolbox
  • 9/26/23 - December renewals will be mailed to groups
  • 9/29/23 - December renewals will be posted to EmployerAccess
