Anthem Reached a Multiyear Agreement With Optum Care Network

Anthem renewed their contract agreement with Optum Care Network.

On November 3, 2025, Anthem advised your clients that Optum Care Network (Optum), a United Health Company, and Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem) were in contract negotiations. Since that notification, Anthem and Optum have reached a multiyear agreement that begins January 1, 2026.

If your clients received a new ID card with a new primary care physician assignment but wish to be assigned back their existing Optum physician, please advise them to contact Anthem customer service at 1-844-971-0117. They can also call the member services number on their ID card.
