Anthem & Stanford Health Agree to New Multi-Year Contract

Anthem Blue Cross is pleased to announce that they have successfully reached a new multi-year agreement with Stanford Health, comprising the below referenced entities with their effective dates:

Hospitals – retro-effective 9/1/2022

• Stanford Medical Center (050441)
• Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (053305)

Medical Groups (PPO only) – retro-effective 9/1/2022

• University Healthcare Alliance Medical Group
• Lucile Packard Medical Group
• Stanford Healthcare Medical Group

Medical Groups (HMO only) – effective 12/1/2022

• Affinity Medical Group-Bay Valley Region (0XQ)
• Affinity Medical Group-Rossmoor Region (0XS)
• Affinity Medical Group-Alameda Region (0XW)
• Affinity Med Grp-Eden/San Leandro Region (0XX)
• Affinity Medical Group-West County Region (0XY)
• Affinity Medical Group-South Bay (2K9)

Stanford Health issued a notice to terminate its Commercial Contracting Hospital Agreement with Anthem Blue Cross effective September 1, 2022. The Stanford Health-Affinity Medical Groups would also be terminating effective September 1, 2022. Since Anthem Blue Cross and Stanford were unable to reach agreement, their contracts terminated.  With this new contract agreement, Stanford Health will return to Anthem’s Network as noted above.
