Anthem & Stanford Health Care Agree to New Multi-Year Contract

Anthem Blue Cross is pleased to announce that Stanford Health Care (henceforth “Stanford”) once again participates in the Anthem Blue Cross network. 

As you are aware, the contract between Anthem Blue Cross and Stanford terminated effective September 1, 2019. Despite the contract's termination, both parties continued active negotiations. These ongoing discussions resulted in the successful negotiation of a new multi-year contract retroactively effective to September 1, 2019. Stanford includes the entities listed below: 

Hospitals

• Stanford Healthcare (050441)
• Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (053305)

Medical Groups (PPO only)

• University Healthcare Alliance Medical Group
• Lucile Packard Medical Group
• Stanford Healthcare Medical Group

Anthem will initiate the process of notifying all parties who received a termination letter (members, clients, brokers, agents, physicians and HMO groups) with the exception of ASO members who belong to employer groups that wish to be excluded from the mailing.
