Anthem's Guidance on Electronic Signatures on Plan Documents

Anthem created guidelines for electronic signatures on plan set-up documents. The guidelines help ensure that all parties will consider electronic signatures valid and enforceable. They apply to all new and renewing groups, and Individual members.


Anthem will accept a wet signature and signatures via DocuSign, or a similar tool, for all documents.


Anthem will also accept certain forms of emails or recorded phone conversations for rate sheets, Summaries of Benefits, and member applications as they adjust to doing more business virtually.
