Anthem's Life Insurance Supports Financial Wellness

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month. It’s a good time to remind employers and employees of the value of Anthem Group Life Insurance plans.  

Continuation of coverage allows employers to pay premiums to continue an employee’s benefits for a limited time during a layoff, leave of absence, or disability absence. The employee can convert their plan to an Individual policy if they do not return to work by the end of the continuation period.

Most Voluntary and Supplemental Life plans include a portability provision allowing employees to keep their life benefits after they lose or leave their job.

Anthem's group life plans also include additional services for members and their families: 

• Resource Advisor provides counseling by phone, LiveHealth Online, or in person. The Resource Advisor website offers special support services for physical and emotional health, and access to recorded webinars. Beneficiaries can use Resource Advisor services for six months after a loss.  
• Claims service offers support when people need it most to provide fast claim payments.
