Anthem's Sale of Life and Disability Products to the Standard Is Now Complete

Effective April 1, 2024, StanCorp Financial Group, Inc. (The Standard) has acquired Anthem's parent company’s Life and Disability business.

Anthem Life clients and their employees will continue to use the current phone numbers, addresses, and AnthemLife.com website to access information regarding their Anthem Life plans. Those clients will receive a welcome letter from The Standard with more details.

Last March, Anthem announced the definitive agreement for The Standard to acquire the Life & Disability business and enter into a product distribution partnership. This partnership brings together two leading benefit providers with deep expertise in group benefits administration, a shared commitment to customer service, and a complementary geographic presence.

Anthem will continue to offer clients access to group life, short term and long term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and paid family leave and absence management products from The Standard. This Life and Disability flyer has more information about these offerings.
