CalChoice: Anthem Blue Cross Out-of-State Network Availability Update

CaliforniaChoice wanted to make you aware of the following changes to their portfolio for Out-of-State employees.

Beginning October 01, 2020, CaliforniaChoice, on behalf of Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem) will only offer its Prudent Buyer – Small Group PPO Network to Out-of-State employees. The Select PPO, Advantage PPO, and EPO networks will no longer be available to them.

If your group(s) currently have Out-of-State employees enrolled on a PPO or EPO plan that is not the Prudent Buyer – Small Group PPO Network, at your group’s renewal, these employees will be required to select a Prudent Buyer – Small Group PPO Network plan to retain their coverage with Anthem in the CaliforniaChoice program.

All groups will receive a similar notice with the group’s mailed renewal summary packet and will be posted on the Group Renewal page at www.calchoice.com. A copy of the group notice will also be available in your Renewal inbox at www.calchoice.com.
