CaliforniaChoice Plan & Rate Updates Effective July 2021

CaliforniaChoice announced plan and rate updates for July 1, 2021 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

Rates

• Medical:
  • Rates will change for Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, Oscar, and UnitedHealthcare
  • Sharp Health Plan, Sutter Health Plus, and Western Health Advantage will have rate passes
• Ancillary: rate pass

Plans & Networks

CaliforniaChoice is introducing a new health plan to their offering! Cigna + Oscar will be available effective July 1, 2021. Cigna + Oscar will offer 8 plans on their LocalPlus network.

UnitedHealthcare will be adding 7 new plans effective July 1, 2021. These 7 plans will utilize the UnitedHealthcare Harmony HMO network that is available in parts of Southern California.

Administrative

CaliforniaChoice is introducing two new Employer Contribution scenarios:

• Employer pays percentage based on least cost HMO/EPO and specified metal tier level.
• Employer pays percentage based on least cost PPO and specified metal tier level.

Forms

Only the updated applications for July 1, 2021 will be accepted beginning with the July 1, 2021 effective date. Earlier versions will not be accepted. Write-ins or cross-outs are not accepted.

Book Rates

Book rates for CaliforniaChoice will be posted to the B&P website when they are available.
