Rates
Medical rates are changing for Anthem Blue Cross, Health Net, UnitedHealthcare, and Western Health Advantage. Rates are not changing for Kaiser Permanente, Sharp Health Plan, and Sutter Health Plan.
Here are the annual rate trends from Q3 2025 to Q3 2026 (trends may vary by plan and region):
- Anthem Blue Cross HMO: 12.2%
- Anthem Blue Cross PPO: 11.0%
- Health Net: 17.2%
- Kaiser Permanente: 7.3%
- Sharp Health Plan: 4.1%
- Sutter Health Plan: 33.4%
- UnitedHealthcare: 22.7%
- Western Health Advantage: 14.8%
New Out-of-State Availability for 2 Anthem Select PPO Plans
CaliforniaChoice announced that beginning July 1, 2026, the Anthem Gold Select PPO C and Anthem Gold Select PPO D will be available for out-of-state members. Previously, out-of-state members could only enroll in Anthem Prudent Buyer PPO options, so this change provides additional options.
As a reminder, Anthem's Select PPO uses the same Blue Card network as the Prudent Buyer PPO when outside of California, meaning there could be cost savings by enrolling in one of these Select PPO options for out-of-state members.
