Blue Shield of California’s Premium Credit Program
Blue Shield of California has announced that they will be applying a one-time premium credit for customers to help ease the financial burden during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Along with Blue Shield of California, Covered California for Small Business will be applying a one-time premium credit for eligible employees enrolled in an employer-sponsored Blue Shield health plan. The credit will be a percentage applied to one month’s premium. Covered California for Small Business will apply a one-time credit of 10% to an employee's premium that is enrolled on a Blue Shield medical plan.
This credit will be reflected on the employer's Covered California for Small Business December billing statement.
The Premium Credit Program adds to the ways Blue Shield is supporting employers, members, and communities through the COVID-19 health crisis.
Consistent with Covered California for Small Business' existing policies, Producer Services Agreement and related contracts, Covered California for Small Business will pay commissions based on premiums received from customers.
An email communication about this premium credit program will sent to Covered California for Small Business Employer Groups identified as having employees actively enrolled in a Blue Shield plan.
