Covered California for Small Business announced rate updates for January 1, 2025 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

Rates

Quarterly trend from 2024 Q4 to 2025 Q1 (may vary by plan and region): 

• Blue Shield:
  • HMO: 2.1%
  • PPO: 1.0%
• Kaiser Permanente: 7.3%*
• Sharp Health Plan: 2.2%

*Reminder: Kaiser Permanente only changes rates once a year (January in 2024) so their quarterly trend from Q4 2024 to Q1 2025 is the same as their annual trend.

Annual trend from 2024 Q1 to 2025 Q1 (may vary by plan and region): 

• Blue Shield:
  • HMO: 6.9%
  • PPO: 5.4%
• Kaiser Permanente: 7.3%
• Sharp Health Plan: 8.6%

Plan Updates

Kaiser Permanente is removing the following plans in 2025:

• Kaiser Bronze 60 HMO 5400/60 + Child Dental Alt
• Kaiser Bronze 60 HMO 5400/60 + Child Dental Alt INF
