CCSB Updates Rating Methodology for New Hires

Covered California for Small Business has updated their rating methodology for new hires. New hires will be rated based on their age at enrollment and not as of group's last anniversary.

Example

• Group is effective May 1, 2022
• Group hires a new employee on May 17, 2022 that will be eligible to enroll with an effective date of June 1, 2022
• New employee turns 31 on May 20, 2022
• This employee would have the 31 year old rate for their June 1, 2022 coverage start date
