Health Net Closing CA SBG HMO Platinum $0 in 2027

In early September, Health Net announced they are discontinuing offering commercial group health plans in California. This includes the closure of all California Small Business and Large Group Medical Plans. Most of the plans will end February 28, 2027.

In addition, Health Net is closing the following California Small Business group plans. The last day of coverage is December 31, 2026: 

• Full Network HMO Platinum $0
• WholeCare HMO Platinum $0
• SmartCare HMO Platinum $0
• Salud HMO y Más Platinum $0

As a result, we will mail required plan closure letters to your employer groups and members impacted by these changes.

Letters will mail on a monthly basis at least 90 days prior to the impacted group’s renewal date. Due to the commercial group exit on February 28, 2027, the HMO Platinum $0 closure impacts only January and February renewal groups¹. Notices will begin mailing by 10/1/26.
