Kaiser Permanente: KPIF Bonus, Broker Market Update, Pre-Enrollment Support, and More
Kaiser Permanente's most recent Broker Briefing provided important updates for Kaiser Permanente individual, small group, and large group markets.
Medi-Cal redetermination auto-assignment and KPIF broker bonus
As part of the Medi-Cal redetermination process, several million California residents may lose their Medi-Cal coverage and be auto-enrolled in an individual plan through Covered California. Help Kaiser Permanente Medi-Cal members keep their doctors and avoid disruption in care — and receive a $100 bonus for every member you enroll in a Kaiser Permanente for Individuals and Families (KPIF) plan when you enroll at least 21 new members between July 1 and December 31, 2023.
Learn more about the bonus here.
New to the Complete Suite portfolio in 2024
Kaiser Permanente has added fertility, optical, and hearing aid options to their Complete Suite portfolio. You’ll also be able to quote a new Virtual Complete plan, as well as a new coinsurance-based HMO plan.
Increases for HSA-qualified plans in 2024
Effective January 1, 2024, the IRS is raising minimum deductible levels and allowable out-of-pocket maximums for health savings account (HSA)–qualified plans. Kaiser Permanente will increase deductibles to ensure compliance. Some deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums may increase beyond the new IRS requirements to maintain current proportionality in plan design.

Staying safe and healthy this summer
Your clients’ employees are making travel plans, so make sure they have what they need to stay safe. Share these resources so they can prep for care away from home — whether for summer vacation or holiday planning. Kaiser Permanente offers 24/7 virtual care, coverage for urgent or emergency care anywhere in the world, and the Away from Home Travel Line.
Get ahead of the crowd — get vaccinated
As everyone gears up for the back-to-school season, make sure your clients’ employees are protecting themselves and their families from infectious diseases. Share these resources about immunizations to help communicate that they’re a safe and effective way to prevent the spread or lessen the seriousness of several diseases. Vaccinations can help reduce missed school days for children and workdays for adults. And, importantly, the risk of getting sick is much greater than the risk of getting a serious reaction to the vaccine.
