Kaiser Plan & Rate Updates Effective January 2025

Kaiser announced plan and rate updates for January 1, 2025 effective dates. Rates are available for quoting!

Rates

Medical HMO:

  • Northern CA: 8.2% average annual increase
  • Southern CA: 5.1% average annual increase

Medical PPO: 7.0% average annual increase

Kaiser Permanente only changes rates once a year, so these January 2025 rates will be good for all 2025.

Plan Updates

Primary care provider (PCP) is being added to all 2025 on- and off-exchange plan names.

Kaiser Permanente is discontinuing the Bronze 60 HMO 5400/60 + Child Dental Alt. Members will be remapped to the Bronze 60 HMO 5800/60 PCP + Child Dental. The mapped plan only has physician-referred acupuncture as a benefit so members may want consider buying up to the Silver 70 HMO 2900/65 PCP + Child Dental Alt if they would like to have the self-referred chiropractic/acupuncture benefit.

Other plans may have benefit modifications due to changes to the 2025 actuarial value calculators, with the biggest changes being to the medical deductible and out-of-pocket maximums.

There are no changes to the dental, acupuncture, or chiropractic ancillary product benefits.
